Receipts 12,113Last week 1,540Year ago 11,821

Compared to last week steers and heifers sold sharply higher on the week. With the flip of the calendar into July BBQ sale season has arrived! Bulk of the receipts in this week’s report came from Bassett Livestock BBQ sale. Bidding was fast and furious at all reporting auctions with cattle going to local and out of state feedlots. This week weighted ave on an 800-900 lbs steer is roughly 20.00 per cwt higher than a year ago. Spotty rain showers across some of the state late in the week along with high winds doing some crop damage in different locations. Feedlot trade was mix, rather odd in a way. Live sales sold a tick lower on the week from 123.00 to 125.00 and dressed sales sold steady to 4.00 higher from 198.00 to 202.00.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
