Compared to last week light weight steers sold steady to 4.00 higher. Feeder steers from 700 to 900 lbs sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher and over 900 lbs sold steady to 2.00 lower. Heifers under 800 lbs sold 2.00 to 5.00 higher and over 800 lbs sold 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Demand was mostly good. Offering included, weaned, bawling fall calves and yearling feeder cattle. Some of the cattle came off rye and summer grazing pastures with the usually run from backgrounding pens. As, we get through June sales most of the cattle coming through the auctions should be off summer grass. These grass yearlings are usually sought after most should have good compensatory gains and feedlots want a yearling compared to a calf to feed. Farmers have kicked on pivots in most areas of the state. Especially in areas that missed the spotty rain showers. Several grazing and haying areas could use a good general rain.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
