Compared to last week, yearling steers and heifers sold unevenly steady. Demand was mostly good. Bulk of the yearlings came off of summer grass. Nebraska feedlots traded steers and heifers 2.00 higher on live and dressed sales. Lives sales at 100.00 and dressed at 160.00. Actual slaughter weights ending week 7/18, All live at 1358 (-14 lbs), steer carcass 899 (-3 lbs) and heifer carcass 829 (unch). Crop progress for last week from NASS report shows that corn is ahead of last year with 89% in the silk stage compared to 61% last year. Corn in the dough is at 27% compared to the average of 16%. Soybeans blooming is at 90% compared to the aver of 76% for this time of year. Dry edible bean blooming comes in at 60% well ahead of 33% last year.
