Too light of receipts for an adequate market comparison. Demand was moderate to good. Negotiated feedlot trade continues to be slow across the state with packers buying only a load or two from various lots each week. This week, negotiated trade on a dress basis sold steady from 178.00 to 190.00 with some live sales ranging from 112.00 to 120.00. Actual slaughter weights continue to rise as market ready cattle are backed up each week. For week ending 5/16: All live 1,379 (+10) Steer carcass 901 (+5) Heifer carcass 831 (+2) from previous week. Most of the state has sufficient moisture as of today. But, some areas in the eastern and along the Nebraska/Kansas boarder remain in the abnormally dry category by the the National drought monitor.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Nebraska barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
