Compared to last week most lots of steer calves under 700 lbs sold 3.00 to 4.00 lower except 500 lbs calves sold steady. Steers from 700 to 900 lbs sold 4.00 to 5.00 lower and over 900 lbs sold a 1.00 lower. Heifers under 800 lbs sold steady to 2.00 higher with weights over 800 lbs 6.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good for the rather heavy supply of calves and feeder cattle. Good demand was also noted for bred heifers and cows the last 7 days with many buyers procuring part or full load lots. More seasonally temps across the midlands this week has aided in melting snow and opening up winter grazing fields. Hay market across the state continues steady on all types of forages. Many buyers still on the fence as they burn up there calculators trying to figure out what is the best bang for there buck when buying winter feed. Nebraska feedlot trading has been mostly at a standstill this week, a few sales reported on Thursday at 117.00 to 119.00 live and 188.00 dressed. Actual slaughter weights wk ending 11/30: All live 1,384 lbs (+6); Steer carcass 911 lbs (unch) and Heifer carcass 840 lbs (-2).
