Compared to last week steer calves under 500 lbs sold 2.00 to 3.00 higher, over 500 lbs sold mostly steady. Heifer calves sold mostly steady with some flyweights trading 2.00 higher. Not enough comparable yearling receipts for a market comparison. Demand improved this week at most auctions as the farmer/feeder and summer yearling operators are in the buying mood. Plus, more lots of weaned calves are coming to town and after they get a brand, few vaccinations these calves can be kicked right back out for winter grazing. Feedlots live sales sold steady to 1.00 higher from 115.00-117.00 and dressed sales sold 2.00 higher at 184.00. Corn Harvest was in full swing until rain showers blew across some parts of the state on Wednesday as some areas reported .50 to.75 inch of rain. NASS reported corn harvest at 85 percent complete as of November 17 this is behind the 5-year average of 91 percent complete for this time of year.
