Not enough comparable offerings this week for an market comparison. Demand was moderate to good for the short supply on hand. Some consignments of cattle came off of summer grass. Most auction markets were closed due to the Independence Day celebrations. Packers came out early Wednesday with decent bids and continued to push higher with their bids until feedlots started to sell. Most of the trade in Nebraska was higher for the week with live sales ranging from 111.00 to 113.00 and dressed sales from 178.00 to 182.00. Mostly dry weather the first half of the week let area hay producers to cut, bale and store some top quality feed. Weeks close saw rain showers, some heavy, across most of the state. Some corn fields hit the old saying "knee high by fourth of July" with other fields a few inches short of that! 349 head of harvest cows and bulls included in the total receipts.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
