North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Mon Dec 1, 2025
USDA Livestock, Poultry & Grain Market News · Federal-State Market News Service, Bismarck, ND (LS-BM)
Receipts 8,943Last week 13,861Year ago 12,376

Compared to two weeks ago, steer calves sold 5.00 to 15.00 higher. Heifer calves under 550 lbs sold steady to 10.00 higher, while those over 550 sold 10.00 to 20.00 higher. Good to very good demand on high quality, light to moderate fleshed steer and heifer calves. The market was very active on those light weight, yearling making kind of steer and heifers, as well as for those bigger, replacement type heifers. The market was active on the heavier weights that will go into finishing yards, but with the more abundant supplies of those kinds buyers don't have to battle nearly as hard as those yearling operators that need to get cattle bought. Cattle feeders held out for more money late last week and good things come to those who wait again this week as packers purchased some at 225.00 late week.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
