North Dakota Weekly Cattle Auction Summary

Mon Oct 17, 2022
USDA Livestock, Poultry & Grain Market News · Federal-State Market News Service, Bismarck, ND (LS-BM)
Receipts 7,005Last week 3,676Year ago 11,194

Compared to last week: Steer calves 5.00 to 10.00 lower, heifers 3.00 to 6.00 lower except 400-450 lbs 10.00 lower. Yearling feeder steers 2.00 to 5.00 higher, heifers too lightly tested for comparison. Good demand for spring born calves yet there was pressure on the market this week as there are a lot of cattle moving to auctions across the northern plains. The cash fed cattle market topped at 152.00, and the futures contracts are following along working their way higher.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
