Compared to last week: No recent price comparisons available as auction markets did not host feeder cattle sales during the two holiday weeks. Very good demand for all weights of steers and heifers as all auction market locations return to their weekly feeder cattle sales. Cattle feeders are feeling very optimistic about the prospects of the coming months of the fat cattle market and are eager to get cattle bought. Feeder cattle producers are eager to consign and sell their feeder cattle, as the market is so much higher than where it was during the fall run, but the extreme, bitter and dangerously cold temperatures caused many producers to choose to wait until the temps warm some. Above freezing temperatures forecast for next week, a great reprieve after last week's -25 overnight lows and -5 day time highs.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the North Dakota barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
