Compared to last week: Steer calves under 550 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher, instances of 10.00 higher, heifer calves steady to 2.00 higher, instances to 4.00 higher. Good demand for this large offering of calves this week. As the cash fed cattle market improves and the back months of the CME Live Cattle are much higher than where they were just a short few weeks ago there is much more interest in feeding calves. The market was active as more farmer feeders enter the market as they are more willing to take on a calf now as they look to have a plentiful supply of feed.
