Compared to last week, feeder steers sold uneven from 4.00 lower to 2.00 higher, with many of the sales on the steady to lower side. Feeder heifers sold mostly 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Several auctions had lighter runs once again this week as the summer lull in marketing takes place. Pastures continue to be in very good shape and are not of a concern currently although there are a few areas that have missed rains lately and wouldn’t mind a good soaking inch or so. Boxed beef cutouts as of Thursday’s close were higher for the week with choice at 216.88, up 2.15 and select 192.37, up 174.00. Feedlot sales so far for the week have been light with a few live sales reported from 113.00-115.00 and dressed at 180.00-185.00. The Missouri Stocker Formula for Friday consisted of 2877 head with a weighted average weight of 555.27 and a price value of 156.07, down 2.73 from last Friday.
