Compared to last week, steers under 700 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher while steers over 700 lbs sold steady to 5.00 lower. Heifers sold uneven; 2.00 lower to 2.00 higher. Demand was good. Breaking and Boning slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower. Lean slaughter cows and slaughter bulls sold 5.00 to 7.00 higher. Kansas negotiated fed cattle sales sold steady to 1.00 higher at 233.00. In the hay market, demand showed minimal change during the final week of 2025. Producers continued to retain hay supplies into the new year in anticipation of improved pricing. Market activity remained limited, as many producers were not motivated sellers and were waiting for colder weather conditions before moving inventory.
