Compared to last week, steer calves sold steady to 10.00 higher, while yearling steers sold steady to 10.00 lower. Heifers sold steady to 4.00 lower. Slaughter cows sold steady to 4.00 lower and slaughter bulls sold 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Demand was moderate as CME futures were a yo-yo again this week and stakeholders are trying to figure out where they can play in the market and be safe in the risk category. Moderate trading of negotiated fed cattle sales in feedlots this week sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower at 228.00. This past week in the hay market, demand increased slightly while prices stayed steady. Trade remains slow and steady. Producers have still been busy with harvest and winter wheat planting when they were not being delayed by the scattered storms across the state. There is still plenty of forage across the state, but the recent drop in temperatures has slightly increased demand.
