Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold steady to 10.00 lower with the better markets occurring the first part of the week. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 5.00 lower. Demand was moderate as CME futures were again under pressure mid-week. Light trading of negotiated fed cattle sales in feedlots again this week sold 5.00 lower at 230.00 to 232.00. This past week in the hay market, demand increased slightly while prices stayed steady. Trade remains slow and steady. Producers have still been busy with harvest and winter wheat planting when they were not being delayed by the scattered storms across the state. There is still plenty of forage across the state, but the recent drop in temperatures has slightly increased demand.
