Compared to last week, steers and heifers sold 5.00 to 13.00 higher. Demand was good on light to moderate supply. Slaughter cows and bulls sold unevenly steady. In the feedlot trade, negotiated live sales in Kansas 2.00 higher at 242.00. In the hay market, demand was light, and prices were steady. Trade remains slow to moderate. Producers continue to bale hay, despite all the rain, because what else are you going to do? Conversations this week revolved around there being lots of grinder hay available but not much high-quality hay. The cooler temperatures are a blessing as our thoughts turn to the upcoming fall.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
