Compared to last week, Not enough of a comparison for an accurate market trend, lower undertone noted. Demand was good. In the hay market demand was light, and trades were slow to moderate. Prices were mostly steady, and the availability of grinder hay remained heavy. Grinders would still like to purchase hay and continue to have difficulty getting it bought with sellers hanging on to the hope of higher prices. According to the U.S. Drought Monitor for the week of February 11th, The High Plains once again missed out on the precipitation that moved through the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic parts of the U.S. Western Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado saw degradation as the lack of precipitation continues to affect the area. In the far Northeast, abnormally dry conditions expanded from Nebraska and Kansas.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
