Compared to last week, Feeder Steers sold steady to 7.00 lower and Feeder Heifers 500 to 700 lbs sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher, above 700 lbs sold 1.00 to 5.00 lower. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 5.00 higher. In the hay market, demand picked up a bit and can be described as moderate to good, with producers reporting more inquires. Trades also picked up for the southwest and south-central regions with prices remaining mostly steady. Availability of hay is still heavy. Those producers that missed out on much of the snow and rain last month, are busy applying fertilizer to their brome fields and some even doing a bit of disking.
