Compared to last week, steers and heifers over 650 lbs sold uneven, 3.00 lower to 3.00 higher; those under 650 lbs not well tested this week. Demand was good. Breaking slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher while Boning and Lean cows sold 5.00 to 7.00 lower. Slaughter bulls not well tested. In the feedlot trade, live sales occurred on Thursday and Friday at mostly 188.00, 2.00 lower than last week. Demand is still very light for all hay offerings while hay prices continue to be soft. Feed yards are still not in a buying mood and there seems to be lots of old crop and new crop hay and forages available. Hot, dry weather is burning up dry land crops frustrating producers and there doesn't seem to be much relief in sight with heat advisories posted the rest of the week for a good portion of the state.

Head, weight ranges, average weights and price ranges are exactly as USDA AMS filed them — nothing recomputed, nothing rounded — in USDA's own reporting structure. This is RaisedBeef's rendering of that data, not a copy of USDA's document.
Source: USDA AMS, as filed — nothing recomputed and nothing rounded. This summary aggregates the same sales the Kansas barn reports cover, so it must never be added to a state total built from those barns.
