Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers overall sold uneven; 2.00 lower to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 3.00 lower. Demand was reported throughout the state as light to moderate. Compared to last week, fed slaughter steers and heifers in the feed yards sold steady to 1.00 lower at 178.00. In the hay market, demand and trade activity remains slow, prices were steady. Producers report hot and dry conditions across the state as many continue swathing and baling their 3rd cuttings. With well above normal temperatures for the week, eastern Kansas witnessed further degradations in drought conditions.
