Compared to last week, feeder steers under 600 lbs sold steady to 5.00 higher; over 600 lbs sold steady to 2.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 600 lbs sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher; 600 to 700 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 lower; over 700 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold 7.00 to 9.00 higher. Demand overall was moderate to good. Compared to last week, fed slaughter steers and heifers in the feedyards sold 1.00 higher at 143.00. The hay market bumped up a little in all regions in response to the short supply and deteriorating drought conditions. Producers in many parts of the state saw some rain this past week but, once again, for most it wasn't enough to move the needle on the drought.
