Compared to last week, steers less than 500 lbs sold 5.00 to 7.00 lower, 500 to 700 lbs sold unevenly steady and over 700 lbs sold 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Heifers sold unevenly steady throughout the week. Slaughter steers and heifers at auction sold steady to 3.00 higher with slaughter cows and bulls trading steady to weak on a thin test. Demand was good, especially for cattle to backfill empty feedlot pens. Direct slaughter cattle banged in close to steady for the week with live sales from 240.00 to 241.00 and dressed sales at 380.00.
