Compared to last week steer and heifer calves and yearling sold 10.00 to 20.00 higher. Slaughter steers and heifers sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold steady to 3.00 higher and bulls sold 6.00 higher. Demand was good to very good throughout the week for all classes of cattle at the auctions. Dunlap livestock auction held the annual World Livestock Auctioneer championship on Saturday with 30 top auctioneers vying to the covenant title. Dean Edge from Rimbey, Alberta was crowed the 2025 champion. Reserve champion was Brennin Jack, from Virden, Manitoba and runner up was Preston Smith, from Imperial NE.
