Compared to last week steers sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Heifers less than 700 lbs sold 10.00 to 15.00 higher and over 700 lbs sold steady to 3.00 higher. Slaughter steers and heifers sold sold 2.00 to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold steady to 3.00 higher and bulls steady. Demand once again, was good to very good with some buyers switching over to heifers since their first cost isn't as pocketbook draining as their brothers price at the sale. Rain showers across many areas of the state over the three-day weekend as the state celebrated Memorial Day. With a little warm weather, field crops, hay and pastures should jump upward.
