Compared to last week: Combined weighted average report for 5 Colorado auction markets included: Winter Livestock Auction, La Junta Livestock, Sterling Livestock, Livestock Exchange, and Centennial Livestock Auction. Trade activity and demand moderate to good. Colorado auction markets were in full swing this week coming off their summer schedule and beginning the fall run. Feeder steers under 650 lbs traded 8.00 higher to sharply higher, and steers over 650 lbs were steady to 5.00 higher with instances of sharply higher. Feeder heifers under 450 lbs traded mostly steady to 3.00 higher, 450-800 lbs 5.00 higher to sharply higher, and over 800 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. In the slaughter cattle supply, average dressing Breakers, Boners, and Leans traded mostly steady while average dressing Bulls traded mostly 4.00 higher. In the replacement cattle supply, bred cow offering were mostly 5-8 year old cows in their first and second trimester. The next available report will be Friday, September 18, 2020.
