Compared to last Tuesday at the same market, Stocker steers less than 550 lbs 4.00-7.00 lower, over 550 lbs 4.00-7.00 higher. Stocker heifers less than 600 lbs 1.00-3.00 lower, over 600 lbs 2.00-4.00 higher. Trade active with good demand both from ringside and internet buyers. On Tuesday feeder cattle futures were mostly higher on the day, gaining as much as 77 cents in the front months. October contracts closed with a 75 cent loss. The 10/11 CME Feeder Cattle Index bounced another 53 cents to $154.15. The monthly WASDE report saw 2021 beef output reaching 27.742 billion lbs. That was up from 27.17 billion in 2020, and a 90 million lb increase from the September forecast. Looking ahead to 2022, USDA increased the output from 26.875 billion to 26.995 billion. However, that came with a projected 6-yr low for Q3.
