Compared to last Thursday at the same market, not enough Stocker of feeder steers this week for accurate trends. Feeder heifers over 650 lbs 6.00-7.00 lower. The CME Feeder Cattle Index was another 33 cents stronger on 3/15 to $153.14. Slaughter cows 7.00-8.00 higher. Due to lack of supply especially beef type cows. Slaughter bulls firm. Trade active with good demand. Beef bookings from USDA’s weekly Export Sales data showed a 3-week low 19,695 MT were sold during the week that ended 3/10. China had booked 6.5k MT of that. China accounts for 74k MT of the 419k MT total book. Beef shipments from the week that ended 3/10 were 16,291 MT, taking the year’s total to 150,101 MT.
