Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Weaned steer calves with at least two rounds of shots traded mostly 5.00 higher. Much of that advance was attributed to the high quality of the offering, as buyers showed strong interest in reputation cattle suitable for wheat grazing. Not enough comparable sales on heifers for a market trend but a lower undertone was noted following the past two weeks of advances on heifers. Trading activity was moderate on moderate to good buyer demand. Slaughter cows too lightly tested for a market trend, but a lower undertone was noted.
