Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady on comparable sales. Steer and heifer calves traded mostly firm to 1.00 higher. Buyer demand and trading activity were good. Quality was attractive with several load lots of yearlings on offer. Temperatures have creeped back up to the 90's during the day and dropped off into the 40's and 50's at night. The entire area is still in desperate need of a rain, with the US drought monitor reporting year to date precipitation at just 48% of normal across much of the Panhandle.
