Compared to last week: Steers calves 400-450lbs, sharply lower; 450-500lbs, sharply higher; 500-550lbs, sharply lower; 550-600lbs, 8.00 higher; 600-700lbs, 20 higher; 700-750lbs, 8.00-10.00 higher. Heifer calves 400-450lbs, mostly steady; 500-550lbs, 9.00 lower; 550-600lbs, mostly steady. Good demand for today's sale that included both calves off the cows and those fully weaned. Shot sheets were mixed, with most carrying at least branding time shots. Calves carrying both spring and fall shots brought premiums. Market was more moderate today with not as many in the stands, despite Live Futures seeing some gains today. Calve numbers coming through the barn are tapering off as the Holidays get closer along with the end of the big fall run. Temperatures in the area remained unusually high this week, hitting the mid 70's, making working and moving cattle easier.
