Compared to last week: Steers 400-450lbs, 10.00 higher; 450-500lbs, sharply lower; 500-550lbs, steady to 2.00 lower; 550-750lbs, 15.00 lower. Heifers 400-450lbs, 10.00 lower; all other comparable heifer weights were sharply lower. Good demand for many loads and large packages of quality spring calves, right off the cow, with most carrying spring and fall shots. Lots of reputation producers in the stands, along with buyers and feeders, making for an active market most of the day, turning more moderate towards the end. Most of the calves were carrying light to moderate flesh and had both spring and fall shots. Lots of nice colored calves today, however black hides carrying full shots continue to bring premiums. There were also several large packages of Hereford calves in today's offering, with some replacement type heifers topping their market.
