Compared to two weeks ago: Too few comparable sales to make full, complete market comparisons, higher to much higher undertones evident. A nice offering of feeder cattle for this time of the year, with some long strings including full loads and multiple load lots. The market was very active as the quality was very attractive, as was the flesh condition. With the summer grazing season fast approaching, and now some spring rains have been received, there was great interest in the light cattle that could go to grass to run as a yearling or a replacement heifer. Cattle feeders were ready to compete heavily to buy the heavier backgrounded cattle as the cash cattle market continues to set new all-time high prices. Watch local listings for next feeder cattle sale.
