Compared to last week: Best test on Steers 850-950lbs, 15.00 higher. Heifers, 700-750lbs, 5.00 higher; 850-950lbs were sharply higher. Today's offering was mostly yearlings, with a few spring calves in the mix. There were still a few load lots of yearling available for buyers to fill a trailer from one seller. Open and spayed yearling heifers sold on very good demand, with yearling steers selling on good demand. The yearlings, mostly coming off grass, were carrying mostly light to moderate flesh. Spring calves sold on moderate demand, as buyers still seem to by vying for the last of the yearlings. Weather in the area remains dry and hot, with temps still reaching the uppers 80s and into the 90s. The next Calf Sale is October 4, with weigh-ups in the morning and calves starting at 11 a.m.
