The market was fairly active, in spite of CME Live Cattle being 2.00 lower during the sale. Boxed beef values continue to rise, lending support to the slaughter cattle market. Two way buyers continue to show some optimism as the market was very active on cattle that could use some more days on feed. 18 full loads of steers, 4 full loads of heifers, balance part loads and stock trailer loads.
Slaughter lambs steady to 4.00 lower, except 110-130 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower. Feeder lambs 10.00 to 20.00 lower. Slaughter ewes mostly steady. Moderate demand for slaughter lambs as the supply remains rather heavy. Good demand for feeder lambs, a large offering of light fleshed lambs giving buyers much selection. Very good demand remains for slaughter ewes .
