Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers mostly steady. Good demand for steers and heifers, the market was active but not as fever pitched as last week. A nice offering of long time, hard fed, high quality grading steers and heifers. Consignments ranged for full load lots, and multiple load lots, to stock-trailer loads. Cattle remain very eye appealing as they are so heavily finished and are pretty clean, as the weather remains dry and pen conditions are good. Cash fed cattle in the country last week at 212.00, gave support to the market at the auction. Losses of nearly 2.00 and 3.00 in the CME Live Cattle futures contracts did not seem to affect prices at the auction.

Slaughter lambs and ewes steady to firm. Good demand for this large offering of slaughter lambs. The market was active. Good demand for slaughter ewes, very good demand for bred ewes as lambing time is upon us.
