Compared to two weeks ago: Slaughter steers 10.00 higher, heifers 8.00 to 10.00 higher, Holstein steers scarce. Very good demand for this large offering of long time, hard fed, high quality grading steers and heifers. The market was very active, as even the singles and odd cattle brought over 190.00. Very little premium seen for No Implant cattle, hide color did not matter either. Discounts on cattle weighing 1600 lbs plus were not evident, as packers are willing to tolerate a heavy carcass to get the high quality grades they desire.

Best comparison of slaughter lambs were those of traditional slaughter weights, steady to 2.00 higher. Good demand for this very large offering of slaughter lambs. Slaughter ewes too lightly tested last sale to allow comparison, demand was good. A large offering of strings of feeder lambs, demand was good and the market was active.
