Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers 17.00 to 20.00 lower. Very light demand for this good offering of high quality grading, hard fed steers and heifers. As the CME Live Cattle futures fell to expanded limits lower packers set their sights even lower and drove the market at the auction down to the 100.00 mark. The overall quality of the cattle was very attractive and the weighing condition was fair and hides a little dirty, cattle were not carrying more fill or tag than last week, packers were just intent on buying cattle at sharply lower prices. Estimated dressed cost looked to be from 160.00-166.00. Compared to Monday's drastically lower slaughter cow market, cows today sold 3.00 to 7.00, bulls sold with a lower undertone.

Slaughter lambs 25.00-35.00 lower. Slaughter ewes steady to 4.00 higher. Feeder lambs sold with much lower undertones. Very light demand for slaughter lambs, moderate to good demand for slaughter ewes. Moderate demand for feeder lambs.
