The CME Live Cattle futures fell sharply since the sale last week and added a great amount of pressure to the market, but packer buyers were ready to buy cattle today and were willing to buy cattle at prices premium to the Feb futures contract that closed at 113.75. The above freezing temps have created wet conditions and cattle were showing the effects of this weather, hides were dirty to very dirt at times, most consignments carrying from one-half to 1 percent of their weight as tag on their hides. Weighing conditions ran from very full to a fair weigh up as there were several loads hauled in overnight. Estimated dressed cost looked to run from 188.00-191.00. Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 lower than the last best test which was last Wednesday, bulls steady.
