Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers 6.00 to 7.00 lower, Holstein steers 4.00 to 5.00 lower. Demand very light for this attractive offering of high quality grading steers and heifers offered in a fair weighing condition. The market activity was very slow as few packer buyers present and willing to bid on this weeks' offering. Estimated dressed cost looked to be 162.00-165.00 overall. Choice boxed beef gained 1.00 this morning and packer margins remain very large but they showed little interest in buying cattle even at much lower prices. Two way buyers saw the opportunity and stepped into the breach and bought market ready cattle that looked to be a good buy. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 4.00 lower, bulls not well tested but a lower undertone was evident.

Slaughter lambs 2.00 to 3.00 lower, slaughter ewes mostly steady, feeder lambs not well tested as most. Demand for slaughter lambs only moderate, good demand for slaughter ewes, moderate for feeder lambs.
