Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves sold with much higher undertones compared to last week's very limited test. The only good comparison of yearling steers were those 900-950 lbs 40.00 higher, 1050-1100 lbs 7.00 higher. Yearling feeder heifers 700 lbs 40.00 higher, other weights not well compared. Very good demand for this lighter offering, the snowstorm that passed through the area caused some consignors to cancel and reschedule for next week. After the big gains in the CME Live and Feeder Cattle futures complex the last two sessions cattle feeders were feeling a little better about the trajectory of the market and were pretty eager bidders on the calves. A big string of yearlings offered in load lots and multiple load lots, flesh condition moderate plus to heavy. A large sale expected next week as area producers start their marketing of home raised calves.
