Compared to last week: Limited offering of steer and heifer calves, not well tested. Yearling steers and heifers 20.00 to 40.00 higher. Light demand for the few packages of steer and heifer calves as there were so few offered. Very good demand for the yearling steers and heifers. Large strings of yearlings offered in load lots and multiple load lots, flesh condition was pretty attractive for cattle coming out of backgrounding yards. Cattle feeders were feeling better about the market and basically bought cattle at the same price as the market was before last week's meltdown. Higher CME Live and Feeder Cattle futures today, and the fact that cattle feeders were able to sell fat cattle up to 234.00 on Friday helped to add support to the feeder market.
