Compared to two weeks ago: Narrow comparisons of feeder steers and heifers, as this week's cattle were of different weights than last sale. Steers 8.00 to 10.00 higher, heifers 5.00 to 14.00 higher. Very good demand for this nice, summertime offering of yearling steers and heifers. A few packages of spring born calves were met with good demand. Several long strings of yearlings, including 1 consignment of nearly 1,0000 steers, offered in full load lots and multiple load lots. The market was very active as the cash fed cattle market continues to set new, historical high prices, up to 247.00 last week. Cattle futures are not following the trajectory of the cash markets, but cattle feeders are undeterred in their pursuit of yearling steers and heifers as their outgoing fed cattle are very profitable.
