Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 10.00 to 15.00 higher. Very good demand for this large offering of feeder cattle. There were many long strings of yearlings, flesh ranged from light and attractive to heavy. There were many full loads, including many offered in multiple load lots. The market was very active for all weights and classes as the cash fed cattle market reached another new, all-time historically high price last week. There was more positive news in the marketplace, including the Live and Feeder Cattle futures posting big gains, friendly outside markets also helped to add to the optimism. There were many buyers on the seats ready to compete heavily to get cattle bought, especially on the light weight cattle, as bids were easy to find as so many producers want to own these light cattle. Outgoing fed cattle are very profitable and cattle feeders want to refill their pens while they have these big strings available.
