Compared to last week: Feeder steers 3.00 to 5.00 higher, heifers 4.00 to 6.00 higher. Very good demand for all weights of steers and heifers this week. Another day of gains in the CME cattle futures had cattle feeders feeling more positive and ready to compete heavily to get the cattle bought that they need. The market is incredibly active on the lighter cattle as the supply remains limited and there are ample buyers for this class. Increased market activity on the nice offering of backgrounded steers and heifers, there were long strings offered in full loads and multiple load lots and buyers were quick to take all loads when given the chance. The quality of these cattle was very high and the flesh was light to moderate plus, they had a lot of eye appeal and buyers were eager to bid on them.
