Compared to the sale two weeks ago: Steers 450-500 lbs sharply lower, 650-800 lbs instances of 1.00 higher in 750 lb steers but mostly 9.00-11.00 higher, 850-900 lb steers 3.00-4.00 lower. Heifers 600-750 lbs 2.00-6.00 higher, 700-750 lbs 4.00-11.00 lower, 800-900 lbs 8.00 higher. Slaughter cows: Limited number of slaughter cows came in today, as most slaughter cows are selling on Wednesday. Slaughter cows remain steady. Many load lots offered today with calves and yearling cattle. Demand was good, more so on light calves and larger groups with black hides. Last weeks auction was not covered due to a winter storm coming through the area dropping ice and snow. CME feeder cattle futures dropped 6.00 today, causing fluctuations in the market.
