Compared to the sale last week: Feeder steers under 550 lbs sharply higher, over 550 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 higher, instances of 15.00 to 20.00 on 550-600 lbs and 750-800 lbs. Feeder heifers under 650 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 higher, instances to 20.00, 650-700 lbs steady to 2.00 higher, over 750 lbs 3.00 to 6.00 higher instances to 20.00 higher on 750-800 lbs. Extremely good demand for feeder cattle this week, however the best demand was on those light steers and heifers as the prices advanced so sharply from last week. Another large offering of feeder cattle, lots of buyers on the seats anxious to get cattle bought and placed on feed. Many long strings of backgrounded steers and heifers, flesh condition of these cattle ran a bit heavier at times but that did not keep prices from climbing as cattle feeders were competing heavily to get their cattle needs secured. Many full loads and multiple load lots offered, when given the chance to buy multiple loads of one man's cattle, buyers didn't hesitate to take them all. Higher Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures, along with cash fat cattle reaching up to 190.00 in Iowa last week helped to fan the fire on the feeder market at the auction.
