Compared to last week: Feeder steers mostly steady except 600-800 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher with some instances of 7.00 to 8.00 higher. Feeder heifers steady to instances of up to 5.00 higher. Very good demand this week for this extremely attractive offering of home raised, long time weaned steers and heifers, along with some backgrounded yearlings. The overall quality was outstanding, flesh condition rather light overall, there were a couple consignments in a moderate plus flesh but the quality was outstanding and they garnered a lot of attention. There were plenty of packages of light cattle which there are lots of buyers competing for, along with some long strings of heavier cattle that were offered in full loads and multiple load lots, including one consignment of 650 steers and heifers. The farmer feeders were very active bidders which created an active market throughout the sale. Lower Live Cattle futures again today and lower cash fed cattle sales last week yet that did not slow the pace of the sale. Slaughter cows 4.00 to 6.00 lower, bulls not well tested.
