Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers and heifers 7.00 to 10.00 higher. Good demand for this nice offering of long strings of yearlings in light to moderate plus flesh, many full loads and multiple load lots allowing for buyers to make full feedyard pens of cattle of uniform weight and kind. There were some yearlings off grass, but most were out of backgrounding yards. Moderate to good demand for the first offering of new crop, spring born calves. There was a longer string of high quality weaned calves that sold on an active market. Fewer buyers for the non-weaned smaller packages. With the Live Cattle futures making triple digit gains cattle feeders were feeling more optimistic about the road ahead and were willing to give more money to get cattle bought. Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 higher, bulls steady.
