Compared to last week's much larger offering: Feeder steers steady to 5.00 lower, heifers 2.00 to 5.00 lower with instances of 7.00 to 8.00 lower. Demand only moderate this week. Far fewer buyers on the seats this week, market activity was just moderate. Several full loads of yearling steers and heifers, along with many small packages, offered in light to moderate plus flesh condition. Cash fed cattle were lower last week, lower feeder cattle futures, and higher corn futures all had cattle feeders feeling defensive and determined to buy cattle lower. Heifers were much harder to sell than the steers were as rising costs of gain is a real concern. Slaughter cows steady to 2.00 lower, bulls 2.00 to 3.00 lower.
