Compared to Tuesday: steers calves 450 to 500 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 higher, 501 to 650 lbs 2.00 to 6.00 lower with instances up to 10.00 lower on 500 to 550 lbs. Heifers not well compared today as heifers on Tuesday were mostly replacement quality. Light to moderate demand for today's calf offering featuring several loads and many packages. Quality mostly attractive and all calves were off the cow with most coming in yesterday. Most of the calves had full preconditioning and those without were discounted. Buyers are not willing to take a chance on these high risk calves, especially with the change in weather. Many cancellations due to a winter storm that moved into the area last night and continues today. Many areas saw over a foot of snow. Travel conditions on highways were icy and gravel roads are now very soft and muddy. A moderate market with limited attendance at the auction with the weather being the largest obstacle in market activity today. Next feeder cattle sale is Tuesday, October 27.
